I sold two other lace horse pictures and took orders for 6 more crosses. I had no idea they would be so popular

When I designed a cross for my best-friend's granddaughter (whom they'd named Tamara, despite the religious differences <g>) and published the pattern in the IOLI Bulletin (vol 17, #3, 1996-7), I had *lots* of compliments on it (as well as a lot of chiding: how come a good, mixed-breed atheist like you designs a *cross*??? <g>). Best one was when someone made a whole flock of them to give away at a priest-induction ceremony. *And* she got some orders for it as well, which *almost* paid her for the time spent... :)

And that was some years ago, when religion wasn't running rampant, the way it is now (I might still think of designing a religious symbol for a particular friend, even in the present climate. But, I'd be crucified first, before I published such *now*. Enough is enough; tolerance needs to run both ways)
