A letter has been dispatched to the editor and signed with both my official titles, Lace Study Editor of the International Old Lacers and Chairman, Campaign for Modern Lace. It is probably a long shot at publication, however, I have pointed out the growing popularity of modern lace in Europe and Japan and its inevitable embrace by America. Do keep an eye out for the letter, or perhaps, they will print a "correction", along the lines of "a chain link fence identified as resembling crochet actually resembles bobbin lace". Devon
