Another trick with sleeves comes from Christine Springett who uses it with her fancy snake patterns. After you have cut the sleeve to a suitable length and inserted the snake, punch a single hole in the open end of the sleeve and make a "tassle" from the hole by looping thread through and passing the cut ends through the loop. A little glue helps keep the "knot" in place.
