Hello Magda again,

As I see that you don't mind coming to Spain, I suggest you to take a course
with Maria Regueiro. This is her web site: http://escueladeencajes.com . (I
suppose there is an e mail address there. If not, please let me know it, and
I will give it to you). I have taken 4 different courses with her, and I
think she is just fantastic. She is a very nice and polite person (speeks
English very well), and she is an excellent teacher. She teaches different
types of lace, how to draw patterns, how to start and end laces...
I would suggest you to take the course on Hinojosa lace or Witch stitch: a
tape lace with some characteristics of Milanese. It is very old and is is
made only in some local places of Spain, possibly brought from Italy by a
lacer and developped its own way afterwards.
Also typical Spanish would be to try the Spanish Blonde, made in very fine
silk.
Maria teaches in the summer in the north of Spain, Pontevedra, where you
could also visit Camarias and the area, where bobbin lace is still made by
the local lacers and has a great tradition.

Anyway, Carolina's suggestion of a course on Catalan blonde is also very
tempting. I only tell you about the courses I know.

Good luck on your election.

Many greetings from
Antje Gonzlez, in Guadalajara, Spain
