As a non American I would also like to add my support to Lowell as a place to visit, and spend many hours in, if you are ever visiting the Boston area. It is a bright, light city, not at all dark and dingy as we expect industrial centres to be. Many years ago I went with friends on a city tour which involved various kinds of transportation including the canals and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the year the tours started, way before the Textile Museum moved there. Are they still available?
