What method of finishing off is done with torchon fans?

The way I usually do is the following:
From outside to inside of the fan, begin a narrow braid in horizontal
way, with the 3/4 first pairs. For doing this you have to turn round the
pillow just to work more easily.
Take into the braid the pairs hanging from the fan, by pairs.Every row 1
pair. When worked 2 or 3 rows, discard every row two threads as far as
possible from the inside of the braid(with one remaining in between).
Lets say among the last 4 threads on the outside of the braid. The
discarded threads are laid to one side and they are cutted off later.
When arriving to the end (the inside diameter of the fan) the last 4
pairs of the braid are clothstitched with those last ones hanging from
the fan and then knotted off with Brugges method.
The finishing is very neat, as this braid when mounting the fan on the
fan sticks, is glued and hidded behind the first fan stick.
I hope this can make sense for you. It is diffciult to explain for me
the "how to" in English.
