Dear Lacemakers, just now - while searching for something entirely different, of course - I happened on this page about C19th Tiverton in Devonshire, http://www.devon.gov.uk/library/locstudy/gaztiv.html which includes a drawing from 1836 of "The Lace Manufactory, Tiverton" (established 1816), and a short description of the lace industry there in 1829.
Quite a surprise to find all that going on ! Linda Walton, (in High Wycombe, buckinghamshire, U.K. where Summer is *definitely* icumen-in, at last). - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
