With the C-shaped heads I didn't mean the umbrellas as shown for example on 
http://www.bob-in.com under necesities-bobbins but:

You wouldn't need to drill holes in these ones: wind 2-3 times in the C then 
around the neck. With hair clips you can put a loop in your wire on one of 
the teeth ofthe combs.
