I've got several glass bobbins, but haven't had the courage to use them. Additionally, they're not all the same length or thickness. I have one, bought on ebay, which origiated from the IOLI convention of 1989 hosted by the Rocky Mountains Lace Guild, which has a spiky blue flower on one side. So it would be impractical for use.

I bought a couple of bobbins from him at Poole Bobbin Lace Day in June, along with some rather nice beads. The bobbins I chose have a fixed cameo plaque instead of loose spangles, so they'd feel completely different to anything else on my pillow. He said if the bobbins break, he'll replace them.
