That's quite a good book if you're interested in knotted needlelace. Try
googling "Armenian lace" or "bibilla" if you want more information. The author
lives in Australia, btw, although she spends half the year on her boat. It's not
inconceivable that you may run into her.

This book looks vaguely familiar. I may have it somewhere. IIRC, it's not a bad
book for beginners.

Yes, that's a knitting stitch holder. They're handy for holding your bobbins out
of the way if you're using spangled Midlands bobbins, but I wouldn't call it a
lace-making tool. Take the eBay descriptions with a box of salt!
