My son and his fiance have come home from a trip to Los Angeles.
He just informed me that there was a lady making lace at Knotts Berry Farm. Has anyone else seen this? I am thrilled that he took notice and he even told the lacemaker that his mom did that.

I was gonna brag about my own off-shoot *anyway*, but, after the above, I feel less shy... <g>

Mine went a-chasing his girlfriend (*not yet* a fiance, which is raising all sorts of problems in her - very Roman Catholic, Irish/Polish - family, while her being half-black *and* a New Yorker is testing my DH's liberal attitude to the max <g>) to Europe this summer. His father got a postcard of a melancholy landscape, and I of a smiling lady dressed in a lot of lace - both postcards bought at the Rijksmuseum, and both showing that he *pays attention* to his parents, even when off the leash for years.

But, the real "melted butter and honey poured over my heart" (to use my Mother's phrase) was an e-message I got (and nearly ditched as spam, since it came from an unknown sender) from a woman (girl? The only time reference she'd sent - to a friend of eecummings, who was 75 when my correspondent was 10 - makes it a bit difficult to judge), presenty domiciled in Amsterdam (but, I think, American all the same). The young person, being DS's girlfriend's friend, housed Danek for a bit at each end of his Dutch trip (they're in Ireland now, and incommunicado) and, when Danek discovered she collected antique lace, he let fly with my website (he set it up, he remembers the URL better than I do <g>)... She visited it and was moved enough to send me a message of appreciation...

That, of course, was very nice... But, like Irene, what I appreciate more than anything else, is the offspring *taking notice*...
