Lorri -- I got out my (1999) folder from Pam N's workshop,
"Designing for Bucks Point." There wasn't anything about rules or
pointers, but I thought it was pretty clear what we did. I had a
couple of pages of ground, and another couple of pages of freehand
designs that I had drawn (leaves, branches, generally abstract
floral-type designs). Then I seem to have taken, one by one, some of
the floral designs and arranged them on the ground; softened some of
the motifs so that they could be done as honeycomb, nook-pins, etc.;
erased the ground that lay within the motifs; and lo! a new Bucks
pattern, all my own. What do you think? -- Aurelia P.S. I have a
couple of pages (unimaginably helpful!) that a certain K. Blum
published 20-odd years ago in, I think, the Australian lace mag, on
the subject of nook-pins. If you don't have that, I'll be happy to
send it to you (I got her blanket permission a couple of years ago);
just let me have your address.
Did you take that workshop on "Designing for Bucks Pt'? I have been wanting
to try some and wondered if there are any 'rules or points' to look out for.
Does anyone know of books that give pointers on designing in the point ground
laces?
