Some of you may remember that, during the Hasbrouck Heights IOLI
Convention ('03), when Devon got The Press to come and visit, someone
gave them an excellent definition of lacemaking: it's the MENSA of
crafts.
Now comes an equally lovely definition of lacemakers - from Carol
Lummus, the lady who made the etching of the 3 Lacemakers (quoted with
her permission):
I have such admiration for lacemakers as artists - the poets of the
craftworld.
Nice, no? Especially considering the source...
