Nope; it definitely isn't; time has a tendency to sneak up on us :) And we need it first to set things up (partnering participants), then to make the whatever, and then send it off long before Christmas, so it's of use to the recipient - that's the element I tend to forget most of the time, especially given that I don't set up my tree till Dec 24 (23 at the earliest), since I want it to last and be a pleasure till Jan 6, while most Americans have their tree up early.
I've already arranged a personal exchange (tree ornament) for this year, so am unlikely to participate, but I think it's time...
