Hi Irene,

You can buy paper string in the shops for gift wrapping but in my experience it is not suitable to use for anything other than a gimp thread as it generally doesn't open up as nicely as the stuff you can get from Tim Parker. Also if it does open out the colour is often only on the outside of the paper string where it is obviously dyed after it has been twisted, whereas Tim's is coloured first then twisted so the colour is right through.

I hope this helps

Hello all,

I have heard of paper string for bobbin lace and would like to try some. I know that I can get it via mail order from lace suppliers but I would like to know if it is available in craft stores for other things?

Thanks from a rainy Surrey, BC
Irene
