Dear Elizabeth,

there is definately Honiton lace (as well as some other types) in the
Allhallows museum, as I made my first visit there in September. The staff
included Pat Perryman, and they are all very knowledgeable. I had some
lovely discussions while there about the quality of the work, finess of the
thread etc. Although the museum is small, and only part of the collection
is on display at any one time, some of the work is exquisite - and you can
look at it for long periods without being bored. My favourite piece is used
for the cover artwork of Yallop's History of the Honiton Lace Industry, as
well as pictured inside (though the photo does not do the lace justice), and
there are pictures of lace from the collection in the book.

It is possible that she was there when the museum was closed, but some of
the antique shops have lace for sale, as I discovered while walking around
the town.
