I've used one of those. I think I got it from Holly van Sciver or Lacy Susan. It's nice for keeping the threads out of pinheads when you're working on a motif or around a small edging. The threads go up over the horseshoe and back down to the bobbins, so they're above the pinheads. The only thing I didn't like about it was packing it. It's hard, and wide enough that it didn't fit into by carry-case of tools. Then I found something, I think it's called a "magic ring" and it's made out of plastic tubing. It comes in two pieces, so you can use the small piece, the larger piece, or put them together and have an even bigger ring. It works just as well as the horseshoe but is flexible so it can pack easier. I think I got it from Lacy Susan, too. Robin P.
