An interesting article about an extraordinary lacemaker, thanks Barb B
in Michigan for letting us know about the article. 

But one statement surprised me - perhaps another case of a journalist
getting it wrong?

Surely silk had been used previously in Blonde, and Maltese lace, and
probably others.
