Greetings Everyone! I hope your Holidays have been filled with the things and people you love! I was able to start a new project this week, and am having a wonderful time with it. It is a Binche piece from Anne-Marie Verbeke-Billiet's "Syllabus Binche III", and she describes it as an example of "Point de Fée" lace. I've been talking with some of my local lacemaking friends, and so far, we have been unable to resolve the puzzle of what this term means in lacemaking. We have some ideas about the literal translation, but that does not, of course, take into account the nuances of the language and give us the accurate meaning.
When I mentioned it to Tamara, she remembered that the list had chewed on it a while back, but did not remember that we had come up with an answer. Does anyone have a good understanding of this term?
