Hi All! I have a really good time this week! We have the Czech and Slovak museum here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and they asked several of us from different guilds to come view pieces of lace and fiber arts that they had in storage. They want some us us to try and chart some of the discounted patterns that were used on the various pieces. It was cool! There was bobbin lace, smocking, Leer lace, a whole lotta different kinds of embroidery, whitework, etc. We were allowed to take photos, I used my Olympus C7070 digital, and took everything in Tiff files. I could blow the photos up 400% without it going pixal on me! Man, I can count the twists on some of the pieces. I can't put these photos on my web site, or make any copies, but I can drool over them for as long as I want! This is something really fun, and hopefully we can get some pieces done for the museum.
