I agree. One day I took my bobbin winder to the Club and wound some bobbins
while having a chat and coffee.
The guys came around like bees to a honey-pot!! I was using a tool and they
wanted to see the hows and whys of it!!!
I educated a few of them with my lacemaking - to the extent that one guy who
went to England with his wife found bobbins in Stratford on Avon, with
Shakespeare's only refgerence to lacemaking engraved on it!
He bought a pair - after he proved to the shopkeeper that he knew they were
lacemakers bobbins (apparently she would not sell them to him otherwise!!!)
He kept one, and gave me one!! So I know I got through to one person!!! :))
Another guy saw me lacemaking, one day, and went home and tried to explain
it all to his wife. About a year later, I met her - while I was again
lacemaking, and immediately she realized what her husband had been trying to
explain to her!! - Again, his interest was sparked by me manipulating
"tools"!!!!!!!!
