Hi everyone Alice mentioned the 'snake' on the trysie pillow - I received a variation on the snake idea in the mail, from another lacemaker, a smaller and quicker project, would be good to use if time allows one person completing it. (The nice thing about the snake is it can be ongoing, on the pillow for several people to be working at it in succession). The new-to-me little pattern is a fish, basically a fat almond shape with a bead for an eye and the bundle of threads for its tail (cute!). If anyone has the Lace Guild's 'Young Lacemaker' No. 41, the pattern is from there. You could rig a pattern easily - the shape is about an inch in either dimension, pointy at both ends. My sender used a colourful assortment of embroidery floss (6-strands) and a metallic, with quite a long tail, very tropical. The weaving is CTC except for the sides where an extra T(wist) or two is used at the broadest part of the shape.
