Hanne Sonne has made a book of cones they are laced in Idria and russian,
what about 3 D angel's? bells? hearts? etc.

How about cones? like little basket thingies - they hung that sort of
thing on the tree it seems to me. Make them in gold paper, trim with a
frill of white Torchon lace, and a length of red ribbon as the hanger.

I am thinking of adding a lace piece but don't know what would be best to do. My mind keeps thinking perhaps some sort of special star decoration, or candle
type pieces to decorate the christmas tree.
Does anyone else have any ideas which might help me. Obviously Prince Albert
started many traditions from his home country when he married Victoria.
