Under "tatting", does it seem to you guys that Astratenko's
first two doilies include a bit of Irish crochet? (It's
easier to see in "Violeta".)

If so, it's a grand old tradition -- and more sensible than
trying to tat solid.

When I saw "materials: wool" on Valentina's "Costume
Decoration", I forgot my admiration of the perfect fit for
wondering where she had gotten the thread!

I'm wondering what a "center" is the center of -- they all
look like "ornaments" to me. Too small to be what old books
call a "centerpiece" [intermediate between "doily" and
"tablecloth"] And I wondered about the technique of
"tatting fragment" until I realized that I was overlooking a
line break -- "fragment" means "detail".

The designer looks much too young to have done all that!
