Robin, the gowns are just stunning and look amazing.

We do some re enactment so use cottons and wool fabrics which work very well. I wanted something in lace to wear in my character, nothing too ostentatious as we spend most of our time walking about fields so petticoat hems would very wet and dirty and not seen either. So I made a kerchief to wear around my neck and shoulders, edged with a pretty but fairly simple narrow edging of lace, keeps me cozy on chilly days and evenings and smartens up the rest of the outfit.

Stunning! My second reaction, Robyn, was to wonder how horribly hot it
must
have been in your gown with long sleeves, many layers, and the requisite
underpinnings, while all the observers are dressed in shorts and T-shirts!!
My hat's off to you!!<<

Thanks again. Hot? What's that? I have approximately four layers of fabric on. It's all natural fiber so it does breathe. But it still can be a bit sweaty under it all. Though, I have designed it so that it's not really tollerable to wear under about 78 degrees. It breathes too well.
