All of the postings regarding sewing machine history
have been very interesting. Being that I am not
familiar with lace making machines, I enjoy reading
the postings.

As a young teenager, I learned to sew using a Singer
Featherweight. During my many years of sewing, I've
used a variety of new machines and not-so-new
machines. My current favorites are a new Brother
PQ1500 and a 30-year old Bernina.

But, I've always remembered the old Singer that I used
long ago. Recenty I was able to purchase a Singer
Featherweight in near mint condition. The friend who
got it for me has always maintained that I needed to
start a collection of something. Looks like I now
have a small collection of sewing machines.

Now, in the interest of lace making, it's time to
gather my things to go to our weekly lake making
gathering.
