Dear Lacemakers,
While visiting Chios on the post Congress tour, I also discovered that a
further book has been published called Embroidery in Chios. It is a sequel
to the first book, same publisher and of similar quality and size but with a
focus on the lovely Greek embroidery. As with the lace, there is a wonderful
variety of embroidery produced on the island.

Furthermore: Greek Lace in the Victoria & Albert Museum has wonderful close
up photographs of all the V and A Greek Lace which was loaned to the Benaki
Museum for the OIDFA Congress.

For all those who met Despina in Greece, and those who have fallen in love
with Greek lace through the years, following is an exerpt of information I
sent
to Arachne August 7, 2004. It will give you a chance to search for the
books
if they are of interest - before they become almost impossible to obtain.
