Hi everyone. I'm taking a few moments to update you before going to the fair. (I have a judge coming at 8am.)
The inside section of our paper is the Human Interest section. A very large picture, about 6 x 8", of my hands and pillow is the feature at the top. Under it is a picture of my face, 3-1/2 x 4-1/2. Under that is the phrase "It's not technically difficult but it does take time." Under that is a small picture of my Beds fan. The title is "Bobbin & Weaving". Subtitle "Lacemaker Alice Howell will demonstrate her craft at the Yamhill County Fair." The story continues on page two and, al together, is about the size of two full newspaper columns. On the inside is a picture of my bobbin collection display. The reporter did a very good job of repeating just what I said (I hope I was correct) with only one mispelled word and a couple references to 'tie' threads instead of 'weave'. Overall, it was very good considering some other things I've seen in print. My DH looked for it on the web but our local newspaper is so concerned about losing a penny of revenue that they don't put any stories where someone can get them without buying a paper. (Personal opinion, of course, and said with tongue in cheek.) Must run....must get to the fairgrounds before the judge arrives.
