To add to your lace information files: There is a 224-page German book, if you can borrow it at library or from your lace club's library, called "Kloppel-Kissen-Stander" (with separate 70-page English translation "Bobbins-Pillows-Stands). It is a Deutscher Kloppelverband book (German bobbin lacemakers' association), 2002, ISBN 3-934210-32-5, with 4 editors. Actually, is it a catalogue for an exhibition of the collection of Hannelore Schulte, and it is like visiting a museum exhibition. This book is so wonderful, that anyone passionate about lace-making equipment should borrow a copy from which to learn. Antique setups from 21 European nations are pictured in glowing color. I cannot recommend this enough for those with an inclination to study the history of lace from this point of view (equipment). This book cost me $60 from a U.S. supplier, plus more for the English translation in a separate booklet. This book seems to be out-of-print, but Arachnes who are interested in books should really look at what is available from this group, because all the books are of the best quality! You can select language on their website, and the book list (click on right of page) will come up in that language, plus a writeup of each available book can be read on pages following the first. Not all books have translations! www.deutscher-kloeppelverband.de Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
