Yay Alice!!!

It sounds like you have really gathered some steam in the department of "education the public"!! My hat is off to you, and hope some of us will be able to claim similar success using your method!!

This year for the county fair, I took a 24" pillow and
put 3 snake patterns on it (shortened to 5" each) with
the noses at the center of the pillow. It sits on a
small table so 3 people can work at the same time.

Usually during the four day fair we have 2-3 snakes
completed. In only three days this year, it is 7-8
snakes and some work done on the three currently on
the pillow. I spent most of yesterday winding bobbins
to set up more snakes. At more than one point I
wished I had a camera with me when we had all three
snakes being worked at the same time.

Oddly, it has been either 7-yr-olds or adults doing
it. Once it was four sisters, trading off, who did a
set of three snakes. They were ages 13-26.

We used up all the sets of eye beads I had taken
there, so I'm taking more today. I'm only one set of
snake bobbins ahead so I guess I'll be winding some
more early today.

We plan to take this three-pillow to the next demo but
are considering using the fish pattern since it's a
shorter demo time. I'll need to have lots of sets of
bobbins pre-wound for that day.

Actually, I *did* make two square inches of my own
lace yesterday, in between. <G>

Now -- off to the last full day of fair.
