Hello, I've recently acquired the second of a pair of old "Bucilla steel knitting pins", size 19, about a modern 5/0 or 1.0mm. I have been searching on Google, trying to figure out how old they might be, but so far, no luck.
So I thought I'd ask here. The long part of this short story is that months ago, I found the black paper Bucilla envelope in an antique store. Although the sales tag said "3 knitting needles," there was only one needle in the paper. So the person at the register sold it to me at 1/3 the marked price. (The envelope itself said "set of 5".) After the Michigan Fiber Festival this past weekend, I went back to that antique store and found a second needle in a glass of crochet hooks in the same booth. So I bought that one and took it home, and found that I now have a matching pair, right down to faint corrosion spots in the same places. I consider myself a fairly good "Google searcher," but I just haven't found anything about Bucilla or when they made steel knitting pins.
