It's actually our Cooma Craft group making the bonnets - we have a
membership of about 20 regulars who meet every Tuesday to sew, knit,
embroider, etc. A couple of us are lacemakers, so naturally we'll try to
make a bit of lace for our bonnets.

We will use poor quality calico (I think it's called muslin in the USA -
there has been conversations on this on Arachne before). It's off-white,
and has a few slubs in it. We'll all embellish the bonnets as fancy takes
us - this is an artistic endeavour by Christina, and bonnets do not have to
be absolutely authentic.

I have a reel of a dark ecru 100% quilting cotton which looks suitable to
me, and I will make up a strip of simple torchon to probably go where the
brim meets the crown. I have a torchon edge which looks like series of
heart shapes, I'll redraw it to make it narrower to fit.

All just planning stage thoughts at the moment. My current lace project is
taking all my time - the basic Pythagoras Tree (without the map) from the 's
Gravenmoerse LOKK book, which incidentally I am still looking to buy if
anyone knows of a copy of the hard cover original available - it's been out
of print for several years now. I asked before, but no success.

PS - I downloaded the five individual pages, 3 patterns and 2 sheets of
instructions, with no problems at all from the
http://www.femalefactory.com.au site. They are PDF files. If anyone else
has bother, email me and I'll email them to you as attachments.
