I do wish that when these events occur,
someone would have the foresight to film the lectures and provide a
series of DVDs of same with catalogues of the exhibit. They would make
a fortune!!!
I can't imagine why someone isn't leaping to the fore to film lace lectures
for world-wide distribution! Someone contact Stephen Spielberg immediately to
tell him what he is missing :-)

Seriously, I am also dying to hear these lectures.

Of course the catalogue, which I have been given a copy of, is actually very
beautiful and well-done. I have asked the bookstore at the Met if they can
get some copies and they have gamely agreed to try. (We have over 600 pieces
of the Blackborne Collection at the Met.) The photography in the catalogue is
scrumptious, the lace, very high quality. There is a section about the
Blackbornes who were dealers and manufacturers as well as collectors. I would
love
to know more about this and it sounds as though the lectures might be filling
in some additional details.

Mad with envy,
Devon,
in New Jersey who is working on trying to arrange to get over to the exhibit
before it closes. Any one have any suggestions about other lace related
sites in the area?
