Hi Laura -
The book you're probably thinking about is called "International Lace
Dictionary" by Spee, van den Kieboom, and Coene. It is well-designed to
translate lace terms among 15 different languages. It is not an
expensive book, and really provides an enormous amount of critical
information when you're working with a foreign book which does not have
its own translation. WELL worth the investment!! Most of our vendors
carry this book.

Hello Spiders,
I was wondering the name of the book that was out that listed different lace
terms and phrases in foreign languages. Was it a dictionary of terms or
actual phrases translated in context of the explanation of the lace technique
involved? I think it was in several languages. I went to the Metro Chapter
IOLI Lace Day today and bought a wonderful lace book but it is in French, but
my French ancestors must be going crazy because I can not relate to many of
the terms in the book. The actual diagrams are great but the starting and
finishing are not shown.
I know, of course I should have thought of that when I got the book but the
diagrams looked very clear, plus I get crazy when I see a whole roomful of
lace supplies to be seen.
Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
