I print onto white paper to get the pattern right and as I want it, then place on good card and cover with the matt blue sticky. Very occasionaly I print onto light colour card if I think I want to try something out once only, but rarely choose this option. Although I have begun to learn the craft of pattern making I must say that there are not enough hours in my day to do them all this way. What I want to do is make lace. My waiting to do file is growning quicker than I am able to work them, there are some fabulous patterns out there as well as, lots of lovely things I want to make and I couldn't achieve what I am if I spent that valuable time trying to copy out each pattern. Well done to all who do, but I need the quicker option, especially with the limited uses of my hands. Also with much thanks to fellow arachnes, 2 in particular I am beginning to manage to make some pattern pieces using my design package at last<G> I am over the moon with this achievement and terribly proud when I see the professional looking pattern in front of me.
Like the lacemaking, pattern making must be as individual as our art form.
