"soles de salamanca", a lace from 15th,16th century.

Teneriffe is an island belonging to Spain and here in Europe we learned that
this Teneriffe lace "birth"-place is Spain. It should have come to the south
of America with the Spanish people going abroad. Unhappily none of my sources
mention which material is used. But because they do it also in colours I think
it must be cotton.
