I don't think we discussed half-stitch with more than two pairs on
this list, but I'm happy to be corrected. What it is, I'm wondering if
what you mean is doing half-stitch in a unit of 3 threads (a single
thread and a pair), rather than 4 threads (for two pairs). Half-stitch
can be done such that one bobbin is always the weaver, or the weaver
bobbin can change on each row, depending on the number of twists on
the active pair. If we keep the one bobbin as the weaver, then it is
possible to arrange the moves such that one bobbin works with a pair,
rather than two pair in action at a time.
If this makes sense - I'd have to wind some bobbins and do a few rows
to be able to explain it better.
I don't know if this is of help to you ;)
