Dear Lacemakers,

Information to broaden our horizons:

The American Needlepoint Guild has a newsletter on-line, from which I found
there is an exhibit in Chicago at The Oriental Institute Museum: "Embroidering
Identities: A Century of Palestinian Clothing", which might be of interest to
anyone traveling to Chicago between now and March 25th.

(Devon - I wonder if this museum would have additional info about the
"needle- looping" technique worked in China prior to development of Italian
needlelaces? At least, it is an additional resource!)

The second item I found, for adults to prepare for in advance of Wintery days
when children are inside is:

Of course, I prefer The Lace Guild's lessons for children. But, sometimes
variety is needed.

ANG offers a variety of classes to adults, including needle-made laces (which
I have taken). It is an organization very similar to The Embroiderers' Guild
of America, sends 6 bulletins a year to members, has local chapters, has
seminars, etc. This is information that is always nice to keep in mind for
friends who prefer to create with needles. More information can be obtained
from
the internet and from independent needlework shop owners.
