<Also, there is a book -- can't remember the title but I think it
was by Ullla Fagerlin -- which is full of winter-related figures (a kid
sledding, a kid dragging a Christmas tree, etc) and it includes a Santa
(and his Mrs <g>)>

The book is 'Knypplade Bilder - Schwedische Kloppelbilder - Swedish Lace Motifs' by Ulla Fagerlin and Birgitta Hulterstrom, published by Barbara Fay, ISBN 3- 925184-80-5

The 'santas' are called gnomes, but look just like santas. There are gnome, gnome father, gnome with a snowball, row of gnomes, gnome mother, little gnomes, gnome with porridge bowl, gnome and bell tower, gnome dance.

There are 40 motifs in all covering a variety of subjects other than gnomes.
