Is there a thread conversion map somewhere on the internet?
Not that I know of, but there's a terrific little book written by "our
won" -- an Arachnean, Brenda Paternoster. It compares, for size, almost
1200 different threads -- the traditional ones (linen, cotton, silk) as
well as some less traditional (modern metallics, rayon etc). It's an
absolute "must have" for anyone who is caught with a "must make"
project which recommends a thread that's no longer available.
Go to :http://paternoster.orpheusweb.co.uk/threads/threads.html
And get yourself a copy. It's not expensive but invaluable.
