I have Lace 2000 but have not managed to get very far with it. I do not learn things on my own as easily as I once did. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours at my lace teacher's home doing a pattern with Knipling and with some basic instruction from her managed to do a new pattern! Maybe someone can give me some Lace 2000 tips???? Karen in Malta

This will still give you 45 degrees and diagonal. I gave up using graph paper because my hands aren't steady and I was forever rubbing out pencil dots and misplacing ink dots. You're also somewhat (but not entirely) limited by the scale of the graph paper. I'd be totally confused trying to make a design with widely spaced dots using say every third or fourth dot. I use Lace 2000. Other lace design software is available - I also have Knipling but get on better with Lace 2000. Having made the design, I can print it by choice of thread or size of grid (straight or diagonal), and having drawn a design at 45 degrees, can alter it for interesting effects to say 52 degrees, or 60 degrees, or even polar to change a straight design to a collar or a fan, at the press of a button.
