I honestly can't remember where or what type of sticks I found, but I stained them & put rub-on transfers on them for "pretty", then drilled a small hole in each end - just large enough for a corsage pin to fit into. I lay that across my bobbins & pin it down with corsage pins. I have several in different lengths. Any long pin works. The idea is to use pins long enough not to pull out. Then I pin down the worker cloth over them & pin down a cover cloth over the whole pillow.

I have a tote bag large enough to hold even the largest cookie pillow. It's a quilted bag from Hobby Lobby's kniting isle. I can carry it over my shoulder. I just make sure when I put the pillow in, all the bobbins are hanging down. It's always worked well.

For traveling a long distance in a vehicle, though, I use ribbon instead of wood. I'm always afraid the vibrations would cause the wood sticks to rub into the wood bobbins. I might be anal about that, though. 8-)
