Dear Arachnes, as Amazon stopped their "search by publication date", you may have missed as I did, that a 2nd edition of Lace Villages by Liz Bartlett was published in November.
Synopsis A book that will appeal to lacemakers and local historians alike. It explores, through public records and personal anecdotes, the villages that were crucial to the development of bobbin lace. Photographs include many from the author's own extensive collection, previously unpublished, as well as a selection from the renowned Cowper and Newton Museum, brought together especially for this book. Tips are included on how to care for and use your old vellum prickings. It is a charming book covering Bucks Beds and Northants lace villages extended from the 1st edition. While the proofing is rather lax eg Leicester for Lester and a few grammatical howlers, it is well worth a read. it also has several pretty prickings of Beds and Buck patterns. Louise in gloriously sunny Cambridge where I saw the first crocuses on the way to work today. - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
