Hello Julie, The photo of lace labelled "Bobbin lace of the Royal collection, Belgium" shows a detail of a lace train which was a gift in 1878 from the Belgian women to the Queen of Belgium, Marie-Henriette for the 25th anniversary of her wedding with the King Leopod II. It's mixed lace : application of bobbin and needle lace on drochel. The train is composed of sprays of flowers with relief, and the coat of arms of the nine provinces of Belgium, the ground is scattered over with little needle lace heraldic lions. The train is now kept in the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels. Two years ago there was a marvellous lace exhibition in this museum and one could admire this train with lots of other beautiful laces.
