Hi, I am trying to begin a pattern of Russian lace from a book that is written in Dutch. I unfortunately can't get through the translation even with my Dutch dictionary. The photo of the lace is small and there are some parts that I am not sure of by just looking at the photo. I wonder if there is anyone out there that would be able to help me with the translation of the instructions. They aren't that long. If anyone can help, you can email me privately and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am obviously trying to begin this Russian pattern. I am also working on a simple floral Torchon handkerchief edging by Geraldine Stott for my grand daughters First Holy Communion. I am working on another Russian edging, a Bucks Point handkerchief edging and a simple torchon edging for a tablecloth. The interest in the Russian laces comes from the fact that I am of Polish / Slovak background and trying to make some items similar to what my ancestors have made. I have spun some flax ( like my great-grandmother had done) into linen to use to weave the cloth ( and if I can get it very fine, for the lace). The other gr-grandmother was a weaver. This being the Lenten season, I am also making Pysanky, which are Ukrainian decorated eggs. Many of the designs on the eggs pre-date Christianity and I am also incorporating some of those designs into the textiles I'm making. This certainly keeps me busy and I'm lucky enough that my husband does the grocery shopping AND the cooking. Doesn't get much better than that!!!! Joeanna in sunny Florida
