Dear Lacemakers,
If you need cheering up today,
Thanks, Jeri. All of us in Virginia need cheering today.
here is a new address Lori (Lacefairy)

These are fascinating. The two coloured landscapes are described as
machine-embroidery, as are the two portraits of the poet Yesienin. The
rest -- including the 3-D pieces -- are described as "hand embroidery
in combination with machine embroidery"; apparently, unlike sellers on
E-Bay, the author (OA Gracheva), doesn't seem to think that "lace"
raises the status of an item.
All of the "combination" pieces fall into category that she calls
"vieniz" but which my Russian/Polish dictionary doesn't have (Viennese?
Venice?). My dictionary also doesn't have the word "panno" -- all the
pieces have that in the title.
The last number on the left-hand side of each piece is, BTW, the number
of hours it took her to make the piece. The portraits are around 6 hrs.
But some of the hand/machine ones go into over a thousand...
