I found a nice doily on e.bay that the seller describes as being made of Linen and Bobbin? lace, he has put the question mark beside the word Bobbin not me. So he is obviously not certain what sort of lace this is, but is willing to admit his error, but to my mind it is Tenerife lace and not bobbin lace at all.

Item no. 270115565755

The description goes on to say "No one does this kind of work anymore" how wrong can you be? Alexandra Stillwell, my old bobbin lace teacher, has written books on Tenerife lace and I am sure it must still be made in South America where it is known, I believe, as Ruedas or Wheels. Perhaps the seller has no idea how wide spread Bobbin Lace making is either. I don't have an e.bay account so can't put him right about this perhaps someone else with such an account might like to tell him.
