No..don't think so. I just checked out several webpages on plannishing hammers. They all refer to working metal with the hammer...and they usually have a flat surface, or just gently curved, to impact the metal surface. Bakelite would not have been the material of choice to work metal, and it's shaped wrong. I think we have to look elsewhere for the answer. Thanks to Terry for trying, though!!
