The UK terms/names don't mean anything to me, in the USA. I use the common white paper/wood glue that dries clear. One brand name is Elmers, but there are others in various stores. Does this sound like the glue you call PVA?
I've used it to glue felt to the bottom of foam pillows, and to glue trim. It sticks to wood, fabric, foam....everything I use to dress a pillow. Whatever you do...Don't use hot glue. It makes very deep holes in a foam pillow. I know!! I only did it once!! <G> That was in the very early days of my lace career.
