I just found out this nearly month old message didn't get to the list, like I thought it would. Sorry about that - and about sending "old news" now...

I'm confused - not hard for this brain(?). I can't see how it can be both antique AND vintage. I always understood antique was over 100 years old, and vintage was from the 1920-1930 period onwards. Maybe I'm wrong, if so, can someone please set me straight? Helen.
I was very interested in the words, too - I've heard people using these two words interchangeably... BUT - according to the two sites I just googled: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/vintage http://www.thefreedictionary.com/antique they do have meanings that can be used together. Antique being old and collectable, and vintage being of a certain style. Oh, and I am a lurker, learning what I can about lace making - I want to get into bobbin lace. So far, I do crochet, knit, and tatting for the lace I've made to date. Anne C.
